Vancouver Police Department EV Charging

This project consisted of EV charging design and construction administration for 20 EVSE, utilizing load management capabilities, at 3585 Graveley Street. The installation represented the first load management solution approved in City of Vancouver. It served as an extremely valuable learning opportunity for all parties and established a precedent for implementation of load management, particularly for the City of Vancouver (multiple departments) and Vancouver Police Department.

A major outcome of the project was the establishment of approval practices for load management systems, particularly variance processes and commissioning. The City of Vancouver was particularly engaged and leveraged the project as a learning experience in EV charging installations.

The subsequent use of the system over the past year has also provided valuable insights for future projects.
