St.Paul’s Hospital Redevelopment
Recognizing the constraints and issues associated with the current St. Paul’s Hospital site, Providence Health Care acquired an 18.38-acre parcel of land in 2004. With an anticipated completion cost of $1.3 billion, the new replacement hospital for St. Paul’s has a proposed capacity for up to 548 beds. The site will house multiple provincial programs and referral centres for lung and heart care amongst others. The preliminary stage of the project was to develop a business plan to which AES was a participant.
Stage 1 of the project delivery required the Compliance Team to develop a technical statement of requirements for the project design-build-finance RFP. AES was responsible for coordinating with all other assigned Consultants retained directly to PHC for the electrical and communications portions of the project.
Stage 2, the current stage, involves attending collaborative meetings with the proponent teams, respond to proponent RFIs, and evaluate the final proponent technical submissions to help in selection of the preferred proponent.
Stage 3 will involve technical compliance oversight of the design-builder during the design and construction phases of the project.
