SFU Sustainable Energy & Environmental Engineering (SE3P)

With the goal of accommodating new programs and meeting future growth projects, SFU decided to expand its Surrey campus with the addition of the Sustainable Energy Engineering building (SE3P). The SE3P is a 174,000ft2, 5-storey, state-of-the-art, LEED Gold building designed to reduce emissions and energy consumption. The facility includes a 400-seat lecture theatre, classrooms, wet and dry teaching and research labs, faculty, graduate and admin spaces, collaboration and study spaces, and student services space. It is a distinctive landmark in the City of Surrey.

The project successfully tackled the dual challenges of a short construction timeline and co-occurring construction of a building only inches away, requiring a high level of coordination and teamwork.

AES provided all aspects of the electrical design for this new facility.
