Langara College Sciences and Student Services

Langara College’s new five-storey Science and Technology building will add 13,000 square meters of space to the main campus on 100 West 49th Avenue in Vancouver. It will house state-of-the-art biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, nursing, and computing science labs, as well as a lecture hall, multi-purpose classrooms, and collaborative study spaces. The new construction will provide a home on the main floor for Registrar & Enrolment Services and a food services outlet.

Targeting LEED Gold certification, the design of the new Science and Technology Building will rely on highly efficient building systems and feature an energy efficient building envelope, energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems, reflective and green roofs, the use of local LEED approved materials, natural ventilation, and hot water generation from solar thermal panels.

AES’ design services include electrical distribution, lighting design and multiple systems, namely communication, security, and life safety/emergency power supply.
