As a Principal with AES, I approach each day as an opportunity to work with my fellow employees and be part of the construction process. I enjoy seeing our designs develop from concept to finished product, delivering projects which meet and exceed our client’s needs.
At AES, I am consistently involved in many project types, including commercial, institutional and residential, as well as roadway lighting and intersection signalization. A particularly interesting project that I am proud of, Royal Roads Learning and Innovation Centre, required us to design electrical systems that met specific energy and environmental standards to achieve LEED Gold certification, without negatively impacting the user experience or causing undue expenses to the client.
Although I enjoy all project types, my favourite would be those which include an opportunity for architectural lighting design. These types of projects allow me to use my creativity and either make a statement with bold fixture specification or do the opposite - selecting fixtures which disappear into the architecture.
