Clinical Support and Research Centre, New St. Paul’s
The Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) is envisioned as a state-of-the-art research, technology and medical complex for the New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus in Vancouver, BC. With over 35,000 m2 of usable space, the facility will include research laboratories, an Innovation Centre, clinical space and medical offices, as well as corporate services, training and amenities such as a childcare facility and retail space.
When completed, the CSRC will house a number of research initiatives, including the Centre for Health Lung Innovation, BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, and the BC Centre on Substance Use among others. The Centre will provide opportunities to utilize and develop a variety of new and emerging technologies, including 3D bio-printing, bioengineering, nanotechnology, augmented and virtual reality clinical simulation. The 13-storey building will connect to the new St. Paul’s Hospital via a two-storey sky bridge and will also include four levels of underground parking.
Integral to the project’s success will be the three principles of flexibility to accommodate different uses, collaboration & connectivity between the three major components, and modularity to ensure the space can adapt to evolving needs in the future.
AES is providing electrical design and engineering for the new CSRC, as well as full design services for Audio-Visual, Security and Communications systems.
