BRAD OU-YANG
PRINCIPAL | P.ENG., LEED AP BD+C
As a Principal at AES, my approach to my work is to be positive, be responsive, and be grateful. I strive to keep our clients’ best interests in mind, make responsible decisions, and consider the day-to-day operational aspects that our clients are dealing with. In the engineering field, there is no repetitive work. Every project is unique, and I enjoy solving the challenges that we face on each project. One of my strengths is breaking down complex issues into multiple, simple ones. I can then allocate tasks to my team so that we can grow together.
I have had the opportunity to work on many high-profile projects at AES. However, I have also appreciated the more straightforward projects, such as fieldhouses and public washrooms in parks. Regardless of their size, our projects are impacting the lives of people in Vancouver. I am proud to be part of the positive change that AES is making in this city. In addition to my design work, have worked with Sunny to provide training to the electrical inspectors for the City of Vancouver in ASHRAE 90.1.2010 regarding lighting and lighting controls. I also co-taught a class on ASHRAE 90.1-2010 at BCIT.
AES is a great place to work; every team member at AES is innovative and responsive. I am grateful for the visionary leadership at AES and the strong support I receive from my colleagues.
