For me, the best part of being an Electrical Engineer with AES is having the opportunity to produce innovative electrical designs which contribute to development projects that build our community. I see every day as an opportunity to solve problems, meet new people, and help creative design teams reach their goals.
With construction experience both in the field as an electrician and behind the desk as an engineer, I have been involved in many types of projects such as institutional, industrial, commercial, justice, and residential.
The CPR Steamship building exterior lighting project in Victoria’s Inner Harbour was particularly interesting for me. The design resulted in the installation of numerous RGB LED fixtures, whose colours and intensities are controlled wirelessly. After the installation, we programmed a number of preset colour configurations for different holidays and community events, such as Canada Day and the Canucks colours. The end result was a versatile feature that echoes community spirit and seasonal changes with lighting for all to see.
